Vermont’s Use Value Appraisal (UVA) Program provides a strong tax incentive for good forest management.
This program, also known as “Current Use,” enables you to have your land appraised for property taxes based on its value for forestry, rather than its fair market development value. In order to qualify for this lower appraisal, you must develop a management plan and actively manage your land.
Redstart provides all the support you need to participate in the UVA program. We conduct forest inventory work, develop forest management plans and maps, and oversee management activities such as thinning, timber harvesting, wildlife habitat management, and invasive plant control. Your property will benefit from our efforts, and so will your bottom line.
