In our region, invasive insects such as the hemlock wooly adelgid and the emerald ash borer pose significant threats to forested land.
In cases in which an infestation has occurred, early detection can make a critical difference by enabling trained foresters to slow the insects’ spread. That’s why, in addition to plant control, Redstart works with public agencies to help implement strategic trapping programs for invasive insects. These detection and rapid response efforts help detect and control insects that have enormous potential to damage our forest ecosystem.
